Kaighver Continent Empty
PostSubject: Kaighver Continent   Kaighver Continent EmptyThu Aug 11, 2011 6:49 pm

Kaighver Continent Continentmap
(Dark green areas are heavily forested areas.)

The continent known as Kaighver has two kingdoms residing in it; Esgrad and Kimal. Both are prosperous kingdoms and the continent has basically been divided in half to declare whose territory is whose. However, Kimal feel as if they are being cheated out of land because on their half of the continent is a large desert known as the Chesleen Desert. Not to mention to the west of the desert are the Skelhath Mountains which are inhospitable. The king of the Kimal Kingdom wishes to spread out further into the Esgrad Kingdom and is trying to do so through peaceful means, but the king of the Esgrad Kingdom is a stubborn man who also wishes to expand his kingdom. So far it has mostly been debates between the two side with no real military action as both try to avoid a war. However, with two stubborn kings it is unknown how long this will last.
This land is also very diverse with the races that live within it and there is hardly any animosity between races. There are the occasional disputes and arguments, but no real discrimination against one race.

West of Chesleen Desert
Esgrad Kingdom

Esgrad Kingdom Capital
The capital city of the Esgrad Kingdom is a large and lavish city where all the nobles live. On the edges of town is where you find merchants and those not of noble birth. The king and his family live here in the very center of the circular city in their large palace. He is a greedy but just king somehow, which is how he owns all the land to the west of the Chesleen Desert, but the people of the Esgrad Kingdom do nothing to dethrone him. Being the capital city, it is a major place for trading, not to mention one of the safest places on the continent. Located in the west side of the kingdom is the center for training knights and anything military. Monster threats are no problem while they're around.
Lanolun City
This city is a center place for trade, almost having more people travel through here than Esgrad's Capital. There are many towns within close range of Lanolun city and generally choose to do business there rather than travel all the way to Esgrad's capital.
Higar City
Not as large as Lanolun City, but it still gets a good amount of trade from the northern towns and villages.
Pien Harbor City
Since it is located by the coast, this city is known for its fishing and is where any trader goes to get fish or anything from the sea.
Daraty City (abandoned)
This city was abandoned when the monsters in the area proved to be too strong. Daraty City was never finished as the monsters kept them building and would run in and destroyed things. Once the people left the city, the monsters moved in and made it their home.
Danvor City
A small city by Tinal Lake and they don't get much trade since the large mountains to the north of them keep them a bit isolated from the rest of Esgrad. Danvor City mostly fends for itself and helps the neighboring villages.

Redyn Town
South of Esgrad's capital and very bountiful town as a lot traders come through here.
Kaldel Town
A point between Esgrad's capital and Lanolun City which traders frequent which makes the town flourish like Redyn. The majority of this town consists of mostly fairies of different sorts, which makes sense because of the forest this town resides in. The fairies and other humanoid creatures of the forest center in around all of the cities, towns, and villages in the forest because it provides a home for them which they can help keep safe from the monsters.
Keund Town
A well-off town north of Lanolun City, this place received a lot of trade coming from the north.
Crisul Town
A town north of Keund, it also received a lot of trade.
Oralda Town
A town in the north where a lot of trading of fish is done and this town does a lot of fishing themselves since they're close to the coast.
Endtor Town
A place similar to Oralda Town; very close to the coast, and it does its own fishing.
Verog Harbor Town
This is a harbor town where a lot of fish come through to be kept and traded.
Risild Harbor Town
There has been a lot of debate of this town since it borders so close to the Kimal Kingdom. However, the Esgrad Kingdom's King argues that because it is west to the Esgrad River, it is in Esgrad Kingdom territory. So far there has been no talk of war, but that can't last very long with two kingdoms who wish to expand out over the other.
Saem Town
A town along the major trade route from Verog to the capital.
Twin Towns Esrath (west and east of Esgrad River, north of Lanolun Lake)
It has "Twin Towns" in its named because these two towns are connected by a large bridge that goes over the Esgrad River. It is one of the few points along the river where you can cross safely.

Hath Village
A prosperous village below Verog harbor City.
Athin Village
A village north of Athin City that does very well because it is near a city.
Village Ruins
On the way to the Daraty City ruins, there was a village, but because monsters moved into Daraty City, this place was left. It now sits left unwanted by people, but monsters have also made their home here.
Emner Village
A village on the way to Danvor City whose majority of inhabitants are Dwarves, mainly because of how close they are to the mountain as the Dwarves are expert miners. They dare not set foot too far into the mountain though and mainly build mines along the outskirts of the mountain range so as not to disturb the dragons.
Oras Village
The village to the west of Danvor City, which receives the aid of this city, is another village with Dwarves as residents.
Hindrae Village
Across the river and south of the lake lies this town, another place argued over because of how close it is to the Kimal Kingdom. Technically the Tinal Lake is a lake of the Kimal Kingdom, and since the village is south of this lake, it should be of the Kimal Kingdom. However, the Esgrad Kingdom does not see it that way.
Another fact about this village is that the majority of its inhabitants are Elves. For the longest time they have been there in that village even though Elves are not native to the Kaighver continent. The Elves are actually native to another continent in the world, and the Elves in Hindrae had moved from their homeland to the village a long time ago. The reason has long since been forgotten of its exact specifications, but has been passed down that they were a sort of exiled grouped from the homeland. However, their ancestors who were the exiled ones have been deceased for awhile.

East of Chesleen Desert
Kimal Kingdom

Kimal Kingdom Capital
The capital city of the Kimal Kingdom which thrives on what it receives from the sea because the dry landscape around the Chesleen desert does not offer it fertile lands for farming. It is just as large, if not more, than the Esgrad's capital, and just as lavish. Though the king here is less greedy and seeks more to make sure his people are happy. However, he does seek more land, because part of the kingdom encompasses the Chesleen desert which is useless land because a city or town cannot flourish in there under the harsh conditions.
Onsdel Harbor City
South of the capital is one of the major harbor cities which harvests the unique fish of the southern part of the continent.
Anardon Harbor City
North of the capital is another harbor city.
Verit Harbor City
This harbor city trades with the Risild Town Harbor in favor of trying to bring this territory under their control through peaceful means. The town in more than happy to trade, but so far there has been no luck in bringing this land under the Kimal Kingdom's control.

Leret Town
Just a town between the capital city and the harbor city north of it.
Worwend Town
The town between Anardon and Verit Harbor City.
Ramor Town
South of the capital and the place along the way from Onsdel harbor City.

Niwar Village
One of the villages in the southern part of the Kimal Kingdom.
Taiem Village
Taiem Village trades with Hindrae Village in hopes of gaining that land for the Kimal Kingdom.

Land Features
Skelhath Mountains
These are dangerous mountains as they are inhabited by dragons. Only the strongest and bravest of fighters dare to encroach this territory. The beasts are highly defensive over their territory and setting foot in here means almost certain death. The other thing in here besides the dragons are the normal wildlife which they feed upon, and monsters which for the most part leave the dragons alone and stay in the lowest points on the mountains. Every now and then, the dragons do go in and keep the monsters in their place to make sure they don't run amok.
Chesleen Desert
An inhospitable desert that not many have crossed and lived to tell the tale. The harsh environment constantly changes in an unpredictable manner, with harsh winds and the sun blazing up above. There is very little life in this desert, and the only things that have managed to survive are large beasts that prey upon the smaller creatures in the desert. All of these creatures and beasts are very hearty and difficult to handle. Meeting one would surely bring about your demise.
Esgrad River
The largest and longest river on the continent and has been claimed by the Esgrad Kingdom from its northern most point all the way down to where it touches the Tinal Lake.
Iaveri River
Between this river and the Esgrad River is an area infested with monsters. Luckily enough, they mostly live in this area and scarcely are a threat to the area around Lanolun City and Danvor City.
Kimal River
A small river connecting Tinal Lake to the ocean claimed by the Kimal Kingdom.
Lanolun Lake
The lake that Lanolun City is located by and helps the area to flourish because of how fertile it is.
Tinal Lake
This lake helps keep the land in the south fertile and makes the area good for farming despite how close the desert is.
